Message from the President/CEO

Welcome to the new and improved Open Door Mission website. It is our hope that you can navigate your way around the site intuitively and with relative ease. Please do not hesitate to tell me or anyone on our staff how we might further improve this site for you and others to enjoy.

This message is to thank you and to introduce you:
1. We thank each and every one of our supporters. We thank the churches, foundations, and individuals whose donations make our work possible. We thank the generosity of our Board of Directors for the time, energy, and resources they expend to govern and support the activities that the staff performs daily. And we thank our experienced and dedicated staff who love on the men who reside with us and have one of the hardest jobs in the world.
2. We introduce you to our mission and Mission. The Open Door Mission is a faith and evidence-based program and facility dedicated to transforming the lives of the most severely addicted, destitute, homeless and disabled men in our community.

The Open Door Mission is the very special home to men who are eager to admit that they are desperate and willing to make a change from the way they have been living. The Mission saves lives by changing lives. Every man who enters this beautiful campus has come to the conclusion that his way of living is no longer manageable and that he is powerless over his addictions and behaviors. (AA Step 1)

I hope you will take the time to navigate every area of this website.

Please accept my invitation to visit and tour our facilities. We have been blessed with much and we wish to share our blessings with you. A tour through this website will hopefully open up interest for you to see what we do in person. God bless you.

Your brother-in-Christ,

Tommy Thompson,
